In this video, I review WING CHUN KUNG FU & JEET KUNE DO: A COMPARISON by William Cheung and Ted Wong.

ABOUT THIS VIDEO: William Cheung is a controversial name in the Wing Chun world...but to hell with that. Let's review the book as if he WASN'T. Forget what you know about him. Discard ego and objections and judge the man's knowledge, not his claims of being the only one who learned the "real" Wing Chun from Ip Man.
This is a damn cool book to own. Jeet Kune Do sprang from the holes in Bruce Lee's Wing Chun knowledge. It is interesting to see where he took it. Did he extrapolate in a way where his training WOULD have led him? There is no way of knowing, although all signs point to "no" since he filled in the gaps with things from Western Boxing, which relies on hip rotation to generate power, whereas a Wing Chun punch gains steam in different ways.
Still, it is awesome that these two gentlemen came together for this book. I just wish they had gotten around to Volume 2. If they have, then it is super rare because I looked and found nothing.
If they DIDN'T get around to it, then odds are it will never come out since Ted Wong passed (RIP). I mean, William Cheung could always ask ANOTHER JKD person to help him, but I doubt he will.
