How This Directory Works

This page is going to be a massive, massive, MASSIVE undertaking. In fact, I can't even wrap my head around how I am going to do it or when it will be done. Actually, I take that last part back: I know it will NEVER be done.

Now why is that? Well, check out what my goals are, and you will see.

Directory of Schools

Yes, my goal is to do a ton of research on our friend the World Wide Web, so I can list a school that might be near you. These listings will include:

  • Name of the school
  • Name of the head instructor (if available)
  • Physical address
  • Website (if available)
  • Email (if available)
  • Phone number (if available)

I think it's easy to see why this will be such a gigantic assignment, but hey...I gave it to myself, so I can't complain, right? (Well, I could, but it would be silly of me.)

How the Schools Are Listed

There are two exceptions to the following rule, which would be the United States and Canada. However, for the most part, the directory works like this:

  • Countries around the world are listed alphabetically.
  • Click on the country name, and it will take you to that country's directory.
  • Each page will have the Wing Chun schools listed by city. I will do my best to be sure these are also done alphabetically.

Here is how things are different for the United States, Canada, and China.

  • Click on the link to the country of your choice.
  • You will be taken to a page that lists all the states/territories (for the US) or provinces (for Canada and China).
  • Click on the state/territory/province of your choice.
  • This is where you will find the schools listed by city.

What if a School Has Closed, Its Site is Gone, Emails Bounce Back, Etc., Etc., Etc.?

I will check out all schools when I locate them on the internet. I will make sure their sites and emails work. In fact, I might even send them a message to let them know I will be listing them here. I'll give them at least 1 week, if not 2, to reply. If they never do, then there's our answer, ladies and gents.

However, sometimes a school might get listed here and THEN close. If that happens, then I'm relying on a little audience participation to help me out. Once I've verified a school is open and I list it here, I'll have no reason (or time) to go back and check on its status personally. Therefore, I'm hoping that someone out there will be kind enough to contact me and let me know if the school has closed.

And now, on with the show.
